A. R. Gurney's The Middle Ages

Charles Strouse

Sheldon Harnick

Peter Dizozza Status:  In 1990 Charles Strouse opened his ASCAP Musical Theatre Workshop to its auditors, challenging them to musically adapt a scene from one of two plays by his friend, Peter Gurney.  The choice was between "The Dining Room," and "The Middle Ages."  I provided them with a 20 minute demo tape and was the third to present to Mr. Gurney.  Also present was Sheldon Harnick.  The location for the live performance is CAMI Hall.  I recorded the demo tape with Monica Dizozza.  The live performance featured Monica and Julian Grant.

The demo tape:  Tracks 1-8

Additional music:  Track 9
